Casted by Mistake

In 1967, Guy Debord used the metaphor The Society of the Spectacle (La Société du Spectacle) to describe the world as being fictious, and the people in it as being passive. His book had a widespread influence in France during the 1968 student rebellion. Now, the students again demonstrates in France, angry about the prime minister Villepins new labour law CPE, which will make it easier for employers to fire young workers during the first two years of employment. In this perspective it is interesting to read that the commentators in the Media describe Villepins as being ”casted by mistake”.
